When buying a well known product consider your needs (vegan or not), the quality, and the price to fit your budget.
Vegan or not:
Mac cosmetics does not offer or do vegan products. However, Urban Decay does. Urban Decay gives your basic tools and products. The brushes are made from recycled water bottles and the brushes are so soft that you wouldn't believe that they are.
Quality:
Mac mainly offers matte colors and both products blend easily. Urban Decay gives mainly shimmers, few glitters, and your basic mattes. Urban Decay's products are very pigmented so a little does go a long way.
Price:
Urban Decay is very affordable. Their palettes range from $27-$50 while Mac's palettes are over $50. Both sell single shadows, Urban decay's single shadows are $18 each while Mac's singles are $15 each. With both you can create your own palette. UD's eyeshadow pods let you take each shadow in and out so you can create your palette however you want with the shadows you already have. The holder is $18. Mac you have to custom order online or in store and can be very costly. Urban Decay's brushes are $20-$35 while Mac's brushes are $19-$35 so about the same price.
Overall:
Overall I would recommend Urban Decay for fitting all of these needs.
